Andrew Card, former White House Chief of Staff, was the featured speaker at UT SAGE’s end-of-session social event. During his presentation, Card answered questions from the assembly and presented stories from his distinguished career of public service.

On February, 19 – 23, CIE hosted the first of several planned cultural exchange excursions to Antigua, Guatemala. Over 20 guests from Austin took part in lectures and tours based at Casa Herrera, a historic property in the heart of Antigua.

In 2012, the Migrant Student Program celebrates its 25th Anniversary. To mark this milestone, we will feature updates on former students to see how the program impacted their lives. First is Alexis Fernandez, who went from 2006 Student of the Year to UT Austin graduate to Samsung Semiconductors engineer.

Adam Fivenson travels to remote locations for his work, where electricity and Internet access are unpredictable. Despite these difficulties, Adam completed two self-paced online courses from University Extension (UEX) to prepare for graduate school.
