CIE’s Allison Kemp awarded 2010 Outstanding Staff Award

5/6/2010

Allison Kemp of the K-16 Education Center was presented with a 2010 Outstanding Staff Award by President Bill Powers at the President's Staff Awards ceremony on May 6, 2010 at The University of Texas at Austin. This ceremony recognized staff members who have made outstanding contributions to the continuing success of the university. During the ceremony, 30 university employees and two supervisors each received a 2010 certificate and an honorarium of $1,500.

Allison was nominated for this award by Beth Busse of CE-IT for her contributions to the Speedway 2.4 to Speedway 2.5 migration project for the K-16 Education Center. Students with the UT Online High School, the Migrant Student Program, ASKME™, independent learners and other groups are all impacted by this migration, as the Speedway learning management system provides these students with online courses. Speedway also provides registration abilities and enrollment management for site license school districts, virtual schools, and the Migrant Program's summer courses.

In the video above, Allison described her work with the Speedway 2.5 project as her favorite project to date: “It’s been the biggest challenge I’ve had since working here, which is probably why I like it so much.”

Beth summed up why she nominated Allison: “She was a pleasure to work with and Continuing Education is very lucky to have a dedicated employee like Allison working for them.”

Congratulations, Allison!
