Enrollment is open for PDC’s Spring 2014 Paralegal Certificate Program

12/3/2013

As instructor Richard Herman describes it, “it’s the number one paralegal certificate program in the country.”

The Professional Development Center at The University of Texas at Austin has offered the Paralegal Certificate Program for three years, and has graduated nearly 400 students. Registration is now open for the spring 2014 program, with classes starting January 28.

The four month long intensive program offers both in-class and online learning options that prepare students for real-world, practical legal application. Students learn the following and more:

  • Torts and tort reform
  • Texas procedure
  • Essentials of the client interview process
  • How to prepare a client folder
  • How to prepare a motion
  • Skills for writing briefs
  • Westlaw and Nexis

The classes are always taught by judges or practicing attorneys who guide students through cases, but also teach them how to build their resumes and stand out in the interview process with law firms or other legal entities post graduation.

Check out our video from this last summer’s graduation ceremony above or on the UT PDC Facebook page and find out more about why you should enroll
