Good Things Happen to Those Who Give: Join CIE for #GivingTuesday on November 27
11/8/2012"The most meaningful gift we can give our children, loved ones, friends and neighbors is the commitment to work together to help build a better world." -- Kathy Calvin, CEO of the United Nations Foundation, a founding partner of #GivingTuesday™.
Move over Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It's time for #GivingTuesday™.
So, you ask, what exactly is #GivingTuesday™? #GivingTuesday™ is a campaign to create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season. It celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations.
Continuing and Innovative Education (CIE) is excited to partner with this national movement to make a difference this holiday season.
Take a break from shopping and join CIE as we start a new tradition rooted in charitable giving and volunteerism. All you need to do is make a donation to your favorite charity on Tuesday, November 27th.
Although you may know CIE best as an educator or trainer, we are really in the business of making dreams come true—for everyone. Sure, we educate high-powered executives and inspiring entrepreneurs, but we also support underserved communities—from first-generation college students, to migrant students and seniors who never want to stop learning.
A donation to CIE on November 27th will be used to transform the lives of people from all walks of life and meet the diverse learning needs of people like you, your families and neighbors.
Three Things You Can Do Today to Support CIE and #Giving Tuesday:
1. Join our mailing list to stay up to date on CIE news and how we help make dreams come true.
2. On November 27, go to CIE’s #GivingTuesday web page and make a charitable donation.
3. Follow CIE on Twitter and spread the word about #GivingTuesday to help support this new grassroots movement.
Take a moment. Think about the true meaning of giving. Share a part of yourself. You’ll be glad you did.
