Immediate OLLI memberships are now available for 2010-2011
8/1/2010The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (UT OLLI) at The University of Texas at Austin announces that membership openings for 2010-2011 are still available in three of its five programs: UT LAMP, UT NOVA and UT QUEST. Membership grants participants opportunities to enjoy and contribute to a wide range of seminars and lectures covering such topics as politics, history, art, popular culture, science, architecture and Texas folklore. All seminars and lectures are presented by university faculty, independent scholars, professionals and leaders in business, non-profits and the public sector. Educational field trips, social events and special interest groups are also scheduled.
UT OLLI members receive leadership opportunities when they volunteer to serve on committees to help plan the curriculum and other program offerings. They have a chance to contribute, manage and move the learning experience in any direction they choose.
“By being a member, an individual takes the opportunity to tell their own story, to plan their own future, and what it is they want to do – what they want to learn, who they want to be with. It’s a very exciting and really unique opportunity in that way,” says Kathy Sangster, coordinator of UT OLLI.
All UT OLLI programs consist of three 6-week sessions per year: one in the fall, one in the winter and one in the spring. Here is a breakdown of the programs currently available:
