PDC introduces new Strategic Communication Certificate Program
The Professional Development Center (PDC) is proud to announce the launch of its new Strategic Communication Certificate Program for 2012. This new program helps upper-level managers and professionals build more effective communication skills and strategies to successfully deliver their organizational ideas, strategy and vision to the right audiences. Participants learn the practical and analytical skills they need to become powerful, trusted sources of information for both their internal and external constituents.
The program is being taught at the Thompson Conference Center by Dr. Liz Alexander, an internationally experienced communications professional whose strategic focus blends marketing, storytelling principles and professional development. For the past 25 years, she has lent her creativity and business acumen to projects for organizations as diverse as the British government’s Appeals Service, Cathay Pacific Airways, Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, the Environmental Protection Agency and Philips.
"At its core, being strategic isn't just what you do, it's how you think," says Dr Alexander. "There's no better investment a successful leader can make than to give yourself this time to develop and enhance this vital mindset. Without a strategic approach, you risk being behind the curve, forever playing catch-up."

The Strategic Communication Certificate Program is made up of five courses which may be taken individually as stand-alone classes. Combined together, however, they provide a comprehensive curriculum to help participants become more flexible and adept at delivering complex ideas, strategic messaging and crisis communications, while establishing their own “strategic communications toolbox” and learning how to measure the effectiveness of their communications.
