On February, 19 – 23, CIE hosted the first of several planned cultural exchange excursions to Antigua, Guatemala. Over 20 guests from Austin took part in lectures and tours based at Casa Herrera, a historic property in the heart of Antigua.

On October 28, 2011, Linda Glessner assumed the role of Executive Director. In this position, Dr. Glessner provides leadership to CIE as the division embraces a new vision to reach more non-traditional students, including high school and adult learners.
