Thompson Conference Center

As one of the nation’s top institutions, The University of Texas at Austin is pleased to offer the Joe C. Thompson Conference Center as a place where people and ideas can come together for discussion, for enrichment, and for the exchange of information that benefits the world in which we live.

The Thompson Conference Center is available to host educational, not for profit programs for the University community, government entities, and the general public with university joint sponsorship.

A 42-foot by 90-foot front terrace serves as the entry. In the north center of the facility is a 54-foot square garden patio. With a total of approximately 54,000 square feet, the building contains three levels and a basement level. Spaces inside the building were designed for a wide variety of uses to make group sessions effective and convenient. They include a 230-seat auditorium, 13 conference rooms accommodating from 20 to 192 people, a business center, and a dining area.

The dining room is enclosed on three sides by glass. Three hundred-year-old oak trees on the north end of the dining room inspired its name “Under the Oaks.”

The center-convenient parking lot is located at the intersection of Red River and Dean Keeton (26th) Streets and accommodates 267 vehicles.

It would be our pleasure to plan your next business event. We are confident that between our knowledgeable staff and the services we offer, we can make it a success.
