:: Part 48 New Miner Training
The Part 48(b) New Miner Training (NMT) is offered as a public course each month. MSHA Subpart B New Miner Training is for individuals working at surface mines or surface areas of underground mines. The New Miner Training course is instructed by Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) approved instructors and all course material meets the standards set forth by MSHA.
The public Part 48 NMT is appropriate for:
- Large and small mines with newly employed inexperienced miners.
- Independent contractors needing to conduct work at a mine site for frequent or extended periods of time.
Please note that if you are interested in becoming a MSHA Approved Instructor, it is a prerequisite to complete New Miner Training prior to applying for the MSHA Part 48 Instructor Certification.
