AP Summer Institutes provide Advanced Placement course training to middle- and high school educators who teach or are interested in teaching Pre-AP or AP courses. The institutes will cover specific AP subjects as well as best practices for initiating and maintaining successful AP courses and programs. The four-day institutes and the consultants who lead them are endorsed or approved by the College Board. UT-Austin faculty will be guest lecturers in some of the institutes.
Participants who attend in full and complete an AP Summer Institute at UT Austin will receive a certificate stating they have completed 30 contact hours of training in the institute subject. Participants who attend part of the institute will receive a letter stating the hours of attendance, but they will not receive a certificate.
Last summer, over 700 teachers received training from experienced AP consultants and took advantage of the intellectual, cultural, and technological resources available at The University of Texas at Austin.
