Business Foundations Credit Certificate
Courses
The Business Foundations Certificate program consists of six courses (two lower-division and four upper-division courses). Course content is the same as that of the comparable courses taught by the University’s McCombs School of Business and are taught by instructors approved through the McCombs School of Business.
Note: You may take up to one online course toward the Business Foundations Certificate. Currently LEB 320F is offered online.
Lower-Division Courses
- ACC 310F Foundations of Accounting
- MIS 302F Introduction to Information Technology Management (MIS 311F taken before fall 2008 is honored)
Upper-Division Courses
- FIN 320F Foundations of Finance
- LEB 320F Legal Environment of Business: Foundations of Business Law
- MAN 320F Foundations of Management
- MKT 320F Foundations of Marketing
Two other courses are required to earn the certificate: ECO 304K or ECO 304L (or the direct equivalent) and any three-hour statistics course.
A person may register for one or more of these courses without intending to complete the Business Foundations Certificate.
University of Texas at Austin students who are seeking a Business Foundations Certificate through the McCombs School of Business are allowed to take up to two of the Foundations courses with University Extension for transfer credit.
