Elements of Computing Credit Certificate
Courses
The Elements of Computing Certificate consists of twelve hours (four three-hour courses). CS 303E, CS 313E, and any two of the other Elements of Computing courses must be taken to receive the certificate. Upon completion of the twelve-hour program, students will earn a certificate of completion and an acknowledgment on their transcripts. Students must earn a grade of C or better in all four courses.
If you are not seeking a certificate, you may still take Computer Science courses as long as you have the necessary prerequisites.
Numbers and titles in the prospective complete series are:
- CS 303E Elements of Computers and Programming (pre-calculus [305G] is prerequisite)
- CS 313E Elements of Software Design (C S 303E is prerequisite)
- CS 326E Elements of Networking (C S 303E & 313E are prerequisites)
- CS 327E Elements of Databases (C S 303E & 313E are prerequisites)
- CS 323E Elements of Scientific Computing (C S 303E, 2nd semester Calculus [M 408D] and Linear Algebra & Matrix Theory [M 311] or Matrices & Matrix Calculations [M 340L] are prerequisites)
- CS 324E Elements of Graphics and Visualization (C S 313E and 1st semester Calculus [M 408C] are prerequisites)
