Make-up Final Examinations

One time will be scheduled for all make-up final examinations for University Extension courses. The date for the make-up examination falls after the last day of final exams, so if you take the make-up examination, you may receive an Incomplete (X) for the course on your first grade report. The final grade will be recorded after you have completed the make-up final examination. If you have multiple make-up exams, you must take one at the time scheduled for all make-up examinations. Extension staff will set dates for you to complete additional exams.

You may be allowed to take a make-up final examination only because of serious illness, religious holiday exemption, or because of other compelling emergency reasons. We only approve make-up examinations for students who are in good academic and financial standing with University Extension and who have met all other requirements in the course for which the make-up examination is requested. There are no make-up examinations for a missed make-up examination; if you do not take the official make-up examination as scheduled, you will receive an F for the final examination grade.

The deadline for requesting a make-up final examination is listed in the calendar for each semester. We reserve the right to request medical documentation based on a physical examination within two business days of the missed examination. Submitting a request does not guarantee that the make-up opportunity will be granted.
