Steps for Finishing a Self-paced Online Course this Summer
Are you getting ready to finish a self-paced online class by the end of summer? You already know that you’ll need to schedule time to study before you take your final exam, but you may not be aware of the order and timing of important end-of-course processes.
These reminders will help keep you on track to finish your course.
Important Reminders for Finishing Your Course
- Take your midterm. Not all self-paced online courses include a midterm exam, but if your course does, it must be taken and graded before you are eligible to request your final exam.
- Finish up any remaining coursework. You also need to remember that before you can request your final exam, you must have submitted all assignments.
- Request your final exam before your course expiration date. You will have up to 30 days to take your final exam, but you must request it before your course expiration date. Otherwise, you will be dropped from your course, and you won’t have the option to get back into your course.
- Don’t wait until the last minute to take your final exam. To be safe, plan to take your final exam three weeks before you need a course grade, especially if you need to order an official transcript from the UT Registrar’s office.
