UEX Instructors Honored with Teaching Awards

We are proud to announce that several University Extension (UEX) instructors who also teach at The University of Texas at Austin were honored with various teaching awards at the close of the 2011-2012 school year several. Congratulations!

For the fifth year in a row, Dean Bredeson, senior lecturer in the McCombs School of Business, was selected for the Faculty Honor Roll, which is awarded by the Undergraduate Business Council and Undergraduate Programs Office in the McCombs School. The honor roll recognizes McCombs faculty for outstanding teaching performance and commitment to student learning, and Bredeson has been honored with this award more than any other undergraduate business faculty member. Bredeson will teach an online section of LEB 320F - Foundations of the Legal Environment of Business for UEX this fall.

Dr. Janice Fischer was honored with a College of Natural Sciences Teaching Excellence Award. These awards are given in recognition of the college’s many exceptional faculty who are committed to teaching at either the undergraduate or graduate level. Dr. Fischer teaches BIO 325 - Genetics for UEX this summer.

Dr. David Hoffman received a College of Natural Sciences Teaching Excellence Award. Dr. Hoffman teaches biochemistry and molecular biology courses in the College of Natural Sciences at UT Austin. Dr. Hoffman will teach CH 369 - Fundamentals of Biochemistry for UEX in the fall.

Clint Tuttle was selected as a recipient of the 2012 Texas Exes Teaching Award, which recognizes teachers that “demonstrate warmth of spirit, concern for society and the individual, the ability to impart knowledge while challenging students to independent inquiry and creative thought, and respect for an understanding of the permanent value of our culture.” Tuttle teaches management information systems (MIS) for the McCombs School of Business. He will teach an online section of MIS 302F - Introduction to Information Technology Management for UEX in the fall.
