How long do I have to complete a UEX online course?

You are allowed nine months to complete an online course. You may receive a one-time, three-month extension for a $75 fee.

How quickly can I complete a course?

The minimum completion time depends on the number of assignments and exams and how quickly you progress through them. Keep in mind that you may only submit 3 instructor-graded assignments per week and that instructors have two weeks to grade an exam, not including mailing time. While the instructor may take less time, you should plan for the maximum time. For example, it would take at least three months to complete a 3 credit hour course with 15 instructor-graded assignments and two exams.

Can I drop my UEX online course?

Yes.

If you drop within the first 29 days, you may be eligible for a refund.

You may drop a course anytime before taking the final examination without academic penalty. If you open the exam envelope, however, you may no longer drop the course, and a grade will be assigned. If you are enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin, grades for college courses become a permanent part of your University of Texas at Austin record.

Can I transfer to another UEX course?

You are allowed one transfer from one online course to another within the first 30 days of enrollment for a non-refundable fee. Read our transfer policy for more information.
