Fees

All fees are non-refundable.

Services Fees Additional Information
Course Fee $350–$738 Course fees range, depending on credit hour. Specific course fees are listed on each course description page.
Library Fee $10 All students who are not simultaneously enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin pay a $10 library fee when registering for self-paced online courses. This entitles students to full library access, including use of proprietary databases, entitlement to check out books and use reserve materials in the library, while enrolled in self-paced online courses.
Drop $95 You may drop a course in the first 15 days of enrollment. The course enrollment fee, less the drop fee, is refunded.
Transfer $50 You may transfer from one to another course in the first 15 days of enrollment.
Four Month Extension $200 During your five month enrollment you may request a one-time four month course extension. The request must be made before your course expires.
One Month Extension $75 To qualify for a one month extension, your midterm exam must have been graded and you must have met the threshold of submitted assignments determined for your course (viewable from “Course Home” in your online course). Our online purchasing system will audit your record to see if you qualify for this option.
Exam Proctoring Varies by testing site Check your approved testing site for exam proctoring fees.
Exam Re-sending $25 Reprocessing fee if your exam expires or if you change testing sites. You must still have time remaining in your course to reprocess your exam.
Expedited Exam Mailing $28 for domestic mail; $75 for international mail If you wish to expedite the mailing time of your exam, you can request expedited mail service at uextesting@austin.utexas.edu or by calling (512) 471-4057.
Returned Check $25 If you pay by personal check and the check is returned for insufficient funds, you are assessed this fee and a bar is placed on your student record until payment is resolved.
