Jamie Ambrosi, Acting Deputy Director
Baldrige National Quality Program
Jamie Ambrosi became the Acting Deputy Director of the Baldrige National Quality Program in July 2004. In this role, he oversees the teams that train Baldrige Examiners and administer the Baldrige Award Process. He is also a member of the writing team that revises the Baldrige Criteria, and he delivers numerous public presentations and workshops on the Baldrige Criteria and performance excellence. Mr. Ambrosi joined the Baldrige Program in 1999. He has a Masters Degree in Management from the University of Maryland.

Dr. Thomas M. Hatfield, Dean
University of Texas Continuing Education
Thomas M. Hatfield is Dean of Continuing Education at The University of Texas at Austin. During his career in the higher education field, Dr. Hatfield has served as the founding president of a community college in Richmond, Virginia; as the associate commissioner of the Texas Coordinating Board for Higher Education; and as the founding president of Austin Community College. He is a former president of the English-Speaking Union and of the University Continuing Education Association of the USA.
The theme of Dr. Hatfield’s deanship has been to make UT Austin more useful to the people of Texas. He has fostered a sweeping breadth of programs and courses for organizational development and to help individuals in career development or life-phase transition whose needs are beyond the usual scope of university continuing education. Of particular note are the Migrant Student Graduation Enhancement Program, University Charter School, and four institutes for learning in retirement.
As an internationally known scholar in the field of military history, Dr. Hatfield is a Senior Research Fellow in the UT Center for American History. He was a founding faculty member of the UT Austin Normandy Scholar Program, an undergraduate honors program focused on World War II. He also leads study tours to historic battlefields of the war in Europe and to islands in the Central and South Pacific. He is a national media consultant and writer on World War II military affairs. His current scholarship includes writing a biography of James Earl Rudder, war hero and president of Texas A&M University (1958-1970).

Timothy W. Lewis, Big Hill Site Manager
Strategic Petroleum Reserve
Timothy W. Lewis joined DynMcDermott Petroleum Operations Company in January 1993 as the site manager of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve’s Big Hill site. He has been able to remain at Big Hill to initiate and make positive changes in the site’s quality journey to achieve the Texas Quality Award in 2005.
Mr. Lewis received his undergraduate degree in biology from Tarleton State University and graduate degrees in petroleum engineering and logistics management from University of Missouri-Rolla and Florida Institute of Technology respectively. He is also a certified science teacher in Texas.
In 1967, Mr. Lewis received his active duty commission and has served in various command and staff positions revolving around petroleum logistics in the United States Army throughout the world. He commanded three companies in Germany, a company in Vietnam and a group in South Korea. After 20 years of service, he retired as a lieutenant-colonel in July 1987.
Upon return to civilian life, Mr. Lewis received his teaching certification from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and taught biology, chemistry, physics and marine science for four years at Ross S. Sterling High School, Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District in Baytown, Texas, before joining DynMcDermott in 1993.
