Scoring Center

The Scoring Center was created in 1988 to provide a centralized GED scanning and scoring facility for the state of Texas. Since 1988, services have expanded to include:

• designing and scanning custom forms such as agency surveys
• credit by exam/advanced placement test scoring
• essay scoring in connection with state testing or writing preparation projects

The Scoring Center office uses National Computer Systems (NCS) optical scanning machines to collect response data from standardized answer forms to facilitate rapid turnaround for clients.

Computer programs are designed in-house to score tests and transmit statistical reports per request.

University departments, professional and state organizations, and educational publishing companies have all utilized the flexible services offered at The Center.
