Young learners and their grandparents delve into a range of activities designed to introduce the history, arts, and culture of one of America's most colorful cities. Afternoon art courses at the Southwest School of Art & Craft offer the opportunity to learn, in depth, a new art medium. Local experts enhance daily art classes with inside access to San Antonio's rich and colorful history. Discover new facts during an Alamo History Hunt. Learn glass blowing techniques as local artisans demonstrate their craft. Relive the Buffalo Soldiers post-Civil War heritage and a child's life on the range. Following a traditional Mexican feast, evening entertainment introduces Mariachi music and a narrated barge cruise highlights San Antonio's River Walk.
June 15-20 for ages 10-12: select from Drawing in Color, Surface Design on Fabric or Papermaking & Bookmaking.
