  2. Migrant Student Program. The Distance Education Center's Migrant Student Graduation Enhancement Program serves Texas high school students whose parents or care givers are migrant farm workers.

  3. Dual Credit. By taking Distance Education Center college courses, high school students can accrue both high school and college credit.

The University Charter School provides personalized learning for students who need an alternative educational program due to special needs or interests.

K-12 Programs

The Distance Education Center provides the following opportunities for students in Grades K-12:

  1. Examination for Acceleration (Grades 1-12) and Credit by Exam (Grades 6-12). Through the Distance Education Center Examination for Acceleration testing program, students can place out of grade levels and courses. Eligible kindergarten students can also place out of first grade by taking the exam.

  2. Credit Courses (Grades 9-12). In Web-based courses, the Distance Education Center offers instruction from certified teachers for high school credit.

  3. Career and Technology. The Distance Education Center provides student and teacher guides in specific career fields, personal development, and workforce skills.
