As one of the nation's flagship research institutions, The University of Texas at Austin is pleased to offer the Joe C. Thompson Conference Center as a place where people and ideas can come together on campus – for discussion, for enrichment, and for the exchange of information that benefits the world in which we live.
Located in the heart of Austin at IH-35 and Dean Keeton Street, the Thompson Conference Center (TCC) provides conference facilities, services, and programs for educational and personal enrichment purposes. This full-service, non-residential conference center features 14 meeting rooms with seating for 20 to 200 and a 260-seat auditorium. TCC also manages and handles the reservations for the adjacent Bass Lecture Hall and Lyndon B. Johnson auditorium, which seat 168 and 1,000 respectively.
TCC also offers affordable rental of audiovisual equipment for data and video projection, satellite downlinks, and analog and digital audio and video recording. Comprehensive network assistance by our expert on-site technical staff is readily available. High speed wireless Internet access is provided throughout the building, as well as in our complimentary Business Center, which is equipped with 5 personal computers.
Clients and guests enjoy full-meal service from early morning until mid afternoon in TCC’s on-site dining facility, Under the Oaks, – an impressive two-story venue enclosed on three sides by glass and surrounded by three-hundred-year-old oak trees. Now under new management, the dining facility and catering services are available for evening and weekend receptions, banquets, and events. Catering service through Under the Oaks is also available in the TCC's meeting rooms, on three shaded patios, and at other sites around campus.
