| The Joseph A. Holmes Safety Association strives to promote health
and safety within the mining industry. To this end, the Holmes Safety
Association was formed. This association was established to commemorate
and perpetuate the efforts of Dr. Joseph A. Holmes. The Holmes Safety
Association consists of a national council, state councils district
councils, and local chapters each level directing and assisting
the level below it.
Objectives of the Association:
To prevent fatalities and injuries and
To improve health and safety among officials and employees
in all phases of the mining industries.
How can I join the Holmes Safety Association?
Chapters are the smallest organizational entity in the Association. Your organization/company
can become a Chapter by filling out the application and submitting it to Arlington,
Virginia. Membership is free and you will receive a safety publication containing
information and articles to help you in your safety efforts. Click

Does the state of Texas have any District Councils?
How can a Chapter join one?
Texas has fourteen District Councils and one State Council. They
are organized based upon geographical location and similarity of
work. Once you become a Chapter you can join whichever council
you believe would best serve your needs. Call the Council you are
interested in and attend their next meeting. |
