Sandra (Sandy) Lynn Briley
Child Development Center Director
Favorite Children’s Book: Hank the Cow Dog by John Erikson
Sandy has brought a strong vision and sense of guidance to the Child Development Center for 16 years, and holds a Ph.D. in early childhood education from The University of Texas at Austin. She has more than 35 years of experience in the child care field, and warmly remembers taking on her first care-giving role when her band director entrusted her with babysitting responsibilities in high school.
When not making dress-up clothes for the classrooms, Sandy enjoys gardening, quilting, and scuba diving. She also spends much of her time reading and keeping up with new theories and practices in child development. A lover of language and professed speaker of “un poco” Spanish, she values the linguistic diversity, cultural depth, and devotion of everyone in our center’s community, and makes all feel welcome with her kind words and gestures each day.
