April 18, 2008 — Students at the San Jacinto Child Development Center enjoyed the Annual Multicultural Festival. The festival is a day of family fun that parents organize each year in honor of the center’s diverse cultures.

This year, the parents of each classroom sponsored a performance, craft or activity for all families at the center to enjoy. Activities included international flag making, Mexican maraca and tortilla making, Holland tulip hand-printing, and Asian windsock making. In addition, attendees learned about Japanese traditions through rock gardens, origami, paper fans, and a special performance from the Taiko Drummers. The festival also offered a medley of experiences from many different cultures thanks to the center’s “Around the World Café” food tasting, and international children’s museum displays.
