CIE presents Service Awards to long-term University staff members (UPDATED WITH PHOTOS 5/28)

May 13, 2009

On May 7, 2009, Continuing and Innovative Education (CIE) honored 13 of its long-term team members with their name on a star, a walk down the red carpet, paparazzi snapping pictures, and colleagues cheering as they received their framed Service Awards from The University of Texas at Austin. Recipients and their invited guests also heard supervisors recall their most vivid memories of working with the honorees.

The Service Award was designed to recognize individual staff member’s length of service at the university, beginning with 10 years of employment and then proceeding with each additional 5 years of service. This year’s recipients, recognized at a special luncheon in the Legend’s Room at the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center, represent 245 collective years of service to the university.

“These recipients have demonstrated great commitment and talent through the years. I am proud to call them my colleagues,” says Dean Judy Ashcroft. “Each of them has made an indelible contribution to life and work at The University of Texas at Austin.”
