New Faculty Teaching, Learning, and Orientation Seminar
The University invites all new faculty members to attend the New Faculty Teaching, Learning, and Orientation Seminar August 21-24 in Avaya Auditorium in the ACES building. This is an opportunity for new instructors to meet University administrators, learn about successful teaching practices from outstanding fellow faculty members, and become familiar with the numerous resources available to them throughout their career.
The Division of Instructional Innovation and Assessment, in conjunction with the offices of the President and the Provost, helps ease new faculty into their new roles at the University through sessions that inform and encourage best practices, workshops available throughout the year to hone instructional technology skills, and access to staff experts for all their instructional needs.
Other seminar features include a benefits fair, where new faculty can meet with representatives from companies and make informed decisions about optional retirement plans, and a resource fair, with representatives from various organizations across campus. One of the highlights is an evening at the Blanton Museum tailored especially for new faculty and their families.
