Leslie Jarmon and Second Life featured in Alcalde
Leslie Jarmon, Ph.D., a Faculty Development Specialist with DIIA, is featured in this month’s The Alcalde, a publication of the Texas Exes: The Ex-Students Association. The feature, entitled “Get a (Second Life),” explores the use of Second Life in our division and on our campus. Second Life refers to to a multi-user, virtual world that converts the Internet environment into an immersive, 3D environment where users interact through alter ego “avatars” moving through virtual rooms, universities, cities and landscapes. The feature describes how Leslie and DIIA are educating our faculty on the uses of Second Life to enhance their courses. The article can be read as a PDF document.
