IT Governance Updates
Network Ops - Updates have been made to the Network Operations Manual to include a goal of ubiquitous wireless access on campus, in support of the mobile strategy.
IAM Strategy - OIT endorsed the Identity and Access Management Strategy and Resource recommendations.
SITAB Meeting - The Strategic IT Accountability Board will meet on April 26.
Administrative Systems - The Request for proposals for the new ERP platform will be announced in May.
LIFT LAUNCH - The Longhorn Innovation Fund for Technology Call for Proposals is now OPEN. Proposals are due May 3, 2013.
Identity Management - AIC endorsed the Identity Management roadmap model and the creation of an official committee for permanent committee to govern identity management at the University of Texas at Austin.
Mobile Strategy - OIT unanimously endorsed the mobile strategy for the University of Texas at Austin.
Data Access Policies - Members of the BSC are developing protocol for requesting and granting access to institutional data.
Broadband - R&E discussed the impact of flipped classes on broadband.
Priorities and Budget Approved - SITAB approved IT priorities including building out the core network and developing a plan for increased network speeds, more certainty on the set of supported core instructional technology tools, creating new administrative systems replacement roadmaps, driving campus-wide cost savings through software licensing, and updating the web infrastructure.
Office 365 - AIC unanimously endorsed the charter for the Office 365 task force.
ASMP - Year 0 of the Administrative Systems Master Plan will being in January. During Year 0, system requirements will be identified.
Mobile Strategy - The Research and Education committee unanimously endorsed the core mobile strategy for The University of Texas at Austin.
Disaster Recovery - OIT unanimously endorsed a new plan for recovery of the mainframe in the event of a disaster.
Inventory Policy Endorsement - AIC endorsed new inventory policies that will allow for better tracking and encryption of electronic devices.
SITAB - SITAB will meet in December.
Qualtrics - OIT endorsed the retirement of Survey Station and the implementation of the new survey service Qualtrics for Campus. Qualtrics is able to be used for human subject research and the collection of sensitive data.
EdX - The Research and Educational Technology committee is exploring the EdX tool potentials and possibilities for the UT campus.
ASMP University-wide Meeting - BSC held a University-wide meeting to review the Administrative Sytems Master Plan. The presentation is included in the files section of this webpage.
AIC Priorities - AIC will focus on the wireless network, architecture for open systems, and the web environment as three of their top priorities for the academic year.
SITAB Priorities - SITAB will focus on increasing wireless speed and educational technologies as two of their priorities for the academic year.
OIT Priorities - OIT will address learning analytics, online instruction, and cloud computing as three of their priority topics for the year.
BSC Priorities - BSC will focus on administrative information systems, disaster recovery for IT, and institutional data management and sharing strategies as three of their priorities for the year.
R&E Priorities - R&E will focus on Big data policies, the research computing environment, and classroom technologies as three of their priorities for the academic year.

Qualtrics - AIC endorsed the exploration of Qualtrics as a new survey tool available to campus.
President Powers expressed his thanks to all the IT governing committee members for both improving day-to-day operational IT services on campus, and proactively focusing on future IT challenges and opportunities.
Wireless - OIT identified increasing wireless network speed as a top priority for the 2012-2013 Fiscal Year.
ASMP - Pilot units are preparing their roadmaps for adopting a new administrative master system.

Network Report Card - OIT endorsed a network report card for campus buildings that will allow building operators to understand the status of all of the network components within their building.
LIFT - Twenty applications were submitted for the Longhorn Innovation Fund for Technology. Awardees will be announced in August.
Box.net - AIC endorsed pursuing a contract with Box.net to provide cloud file sharing services to campus.
Printer Repair Services - OIT unanimously endorsed the transition of the UDC printer repair service to the campus store.
Identity Management - A roadmap for identity management is underway for campus.
LIFT - The call for proposals for the Longhorn Innovation Fund for Technology closes on June 1.
MyEdu - The University has adopted the Schedule Planner and Course Transfer tools of the MyEdu suite.
LIFT - LONGHORN INNOVATION FUND FOR TECHNOLOGY CALL FOR PROPOSALS NOW OPEN!!!
Laptop Encryption - 93% of UT laptops are currently encrypted.
ASMP - The roadmaps to support the Administrative System Master Plan are currently under construction.
LIFT Launch - The call for proposals for the Longhorn Innovation Fund for Technology will launch on April 19. An event to celebrate the launch will be held from 2:30-4:00 p.m. in ACES 2.402. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Box.net - UT will engage in a pilot of Internet 2 or Box.net.
Endorsements - SITAB endorsed the Administrative Master System Plan and the approach for VoIP implementation on campus.
Endorsed - The Strategic Information Technology Advisory Board endorsed the Administrative System Master Plan.
LIFT - The proposal guidelines for the Longhorn Innovation Fund for Technology are currently under review.
Cloud File Sharing Task Force - The Charter for the Cloud File Sharing Task Force has been developed and the search is on for task force members.
