Ancient Greek Art Lesson
Studio Production
- Students will begin by folding a piece of 12 x 18 inch white paper in half, length-wise.
- The students will draw half a vase design, with or without handles.
- The students will then cut along the pencil outline.
- They will then unfold a symmetrical vase.
- The students will decide what story they will tell in pictures on the surface of the vase. Will it be a myth or a real-life story? Remind the students to pay attention to detailing their vases, with patterns on the handles, edges and base of their vase composition, as the Greeks did on their vases.
