Isaiah Sheffer Visits College of Fine Arts

Sheffer talk

Cultural icon Isaiah Sheffer met with College of Fine Arts faculty, staff and students on Friday, September 25, 2009. Mr. Sheffer is Co-founder and Artistic Director of Symphony Space, a performance venue in Manhattan that brings artistically and culturally diverse audiences together. Mr. Sheffer is also the director and host of the nationally broadcast radio program Selected Shorts.

Last March, Isaiah and the staff at Symphony Space graciously hosted a group of students from the College as part of the New York Seminar. The students were impressed by the work presented at Symphony Space and the collegiality among the staff. During his visit to Austin, Isaiah was equally captivating and left students with two pieces of valuable advice: surround yourself with like minded people and take an active role in your career.
