cultural history of the ear

This project emerged from my long-standing interest in cultural studies and European cultural history, but it also intersects with recent work in the anthropology of senses.  One outcome of this research is a monograph on Reason and Resonance. A Cultural History of the Ear; another an edited collection on Hearing Cultures. Essays on Sound and Modernity.
