What if you are in a FIG and need to drop one of the classes, does that drop you out of the others?
Nothing is done automatically. You would have to drop each class that you want to drop. When you register for a FIG, it is a complete package so you should intend to stay in all of your classes. However, if you run into trouble academically with any of your individual FIG classes as the semester progresses, you can drop a course(s) before the drop deadline just as you would for any other class.
