Colman Domingo: The Spring 2014 AADS and Warfield Center Artist in Residence

We are proud to welcome the Tony Award, Drama Desk, and Drama League nominated and OBIE, Lucille Lortel, GLAAD Award winning actor, director and playwright Colman Domingo. Mr. Domingo recently reprised his Tony nominated role in the Kanter & Ebb musical The Scottsboro Boys at the Young Vic in London (What’s On Stage nominee for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical). He co-stars in many feature films such as Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, and Spike Lee’s Passing Strange and Red Hook Summer. Mr. Domingo is the author of several plays including A Boy and His Soul and Wild with Happy.A Boy and His Soul is the winner of the 2010 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Solo Show Off-Broadway and GLAAD Media Award for Best Production in New York. Wild with Happy is the winner of 3 Audelco Awards for Best Dramatic Production of the Year, Best Playwright and Best Supporting Actress. He recently made his London theatrical debut in his critically acclaimed one-man show, A Boy and His Soul at the Tricycle Theater.

Mr. Domingo will be in residence from February 19 to February 25, 2014 and conducting both writing and acting workshops.
