"Enforcing Dependency: Immigrant Mothers and Health Care Access."

This presentation investigates how recent changes in immigration and welfare policies have affected prenatal care access for low-income immigrant women in California. The politics of health care access serves as an important venue from which to understand the shifting boundaries of belonging, sense of entitlement, and the role of immigrants in U.S. society.
