Professor Davis, author of The Circus Age: Culture and Society under the American Big Top, is writing an interdisciplinary social and cultural history of the animal welfare movement from 1866-1930. Her research interests include American popular culture, American foreign relations, animals, American social movements, working class culture, modern South Asia. Professor Davis completed her Ph.D. in History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
