Fulbright Fellowship awarded to Elizabeth De Marigny

Mon, June 11, 2012

Congratulations to Spring 2012 Anthropology major Elizabeth De Marigny, who has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship for 2012-2013 to continue her studies and research next year in the Republic of Macedonia.

Lizzy's research in Macedonia involves registering, documenting and curating the exhibits of the material remains found at Bylazora, a local archaeological site. During the summers of 2010 and 2011 she worked on site as both a field volunteer, actively uncovering this historic city, as well as a ceramicist in the People’s Museum, processing the material remains found at Bylazora. Together with the staff from the museum she will additionally create an educational program that encourages the city to not only explore the museum and its exhibitions, but also become engaged in the preservation and understanding of this monumental archaeological site.
