Cadets are a "GO" at the Pool

Wed, March 7, 2007

In order to sucessfully complete the CWST, cadets are required to swim 15 meters in uniform with a weapon and LBE, conduct a 3-meter blindfolded drop into the pool with weapon and LBE, and conduct an expedient ditch of equipment after unexpected entry in to water. Cadets are offered multiple chances to receive a "GO" at each station.

Cadets who have difficulty with a particular station are offered additional training by a certified swim instructor. To ensure safety at the training site, the on-duty life guards at the TSC were supplemented by four MSIV cadets who are certified life guards. Longhorn Cadets performed excellently with 38 cadets taking the CWST and 100% receiving a "GO" at all three stations.
