Army R.O.T.C Cadets Strive for Perfection

Crossfit exercises use olympic lifting exercises as one of the methods to strengthen the body. Overhead squats are an important part to olympic lifting because it emphasizes core stabilization in the human body in order to promote full body strengthening.

Captain McFarland demonstrated proper weight, head, and lower back positioning in order to avoid injuries while doing the overhead squat.

Cadet Lopez served as a second set of eyes for Captain McFarland in order to ensure all cadets were executing the correct form. It is absolutely necessary for extra safety officers during workouts, because if a cadet does not execute routines or workouts with proper form then they risk injuring themselves or even other cadets.
