Find Your Path: Purpose and Meaning through Leadership and Challenge

Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is one of the most demanding and successful leadership programs in the country. For years, Army ROTC has been creating leaders who go on to rewarding careers in the military and civilian worlds.

The University of Texas at Austin’s Army ROTC college leadership program offers a commission as a second lieutenant in either the active Army or Reserves/National Guard in a variety of career fields including Combat Arms (Aviation, Armor, Artillery, Infantry, or Engineers, Air Defense Artillery), Combat Support (Chemical Corps, Military Intelligence, Military Police, Signal Corps, Cyber), and Combat Service Support branches (Finance, Medical Service Corps, Nurse Corps, Ordinance, Quartermaster, Transportation) . ROTC also provides you with the discipline and money for tuition while enhancing your college experience, meeting like-minded men and women, and becoming part of a higher cause. There are two-, three-, and four-year scholarship programs available, as well as funds for stipends and book expenses.

As a program, we recruit and retain quality Cadets who would best serve the Nation. We educate and train Cadets in Army officership, Army Values, physical and moral standards, and tactical craft. Cadets are coached and mentored to be leaders who are able to think critically, adapt and overcome in adverse situations, and apply good moral judgment. Our result is quality Commissioned Army Officers of character, armed with the tools to succeed and ready to lead our Nation’s Soldiers.

Academics

In the pursuit of knowledge, cadets prepare themselves for leadership by earning their baccalaureate or advanced degree as well as courses specifically designed for leadership and ethical decision making.

Athletics

Participation in our physical training program, intramural sports, and the Ranger Challenge team provide our warrior scholars with the resources to reach optimal fitness and test each individual's mental and physical potential.

Team

Leadership Excellence is achieved through the unity and bond created through camaraderie. The US Army provides a network of Longhorn Battalion Alumni and many experienced leaders. Through these relationships the Texas Army ROTC program fosters leaders with valuable assets beyond the lecture hall.

Enter the Profession of Arms and experience endless opportunities not available in a traditional setting. Apply for a full scholarship, serve your country, and graduate with experiences not provided in a classroom: Become a US Army Officer.
