GraduAsian is a ceremony to celebrate graduating Asian American Seniors!
What is GraduAsian? Why Register?
GraduAsian is a ceremony held to commemorate the many achievements of UT’s graduating students with family and friends, in conjunction with the traditional Commencement, to celebrate the long tradition of cultural awareness at The University of Texas at Austin. GraduAsian aims to provide a memorable, personal experience by allowing graduates to RSVP friends and family to the event as well.
We invite graduating students to register for GraduAsian 2012 which will be held Thursday May 17, 2012 from 6:30-9 p.m. in ART 1.102. GraduAsian 2012 is hosted jointly by Asian Desi Pacific Islander American Collective, Texas Exes Asian Alumni Network, and the Center for Asian American Studies.
Every student participating in GraduAsian is required to register at a cost of $10 to avail a graduation stole, food and drinks for the graduate as well as family and friends and also a special gift. Please stop by the Multicultural Engagement Center (Student Activity Center 1.102) to drop off your payment by Friday, April 20th. Late registration is $15. Checks can be made payable to The University of Texas at Austin, and write in the memo line: GraduAsian. *A registration fee is not required for family, friends, and other guests of the graduates. Guests that plan to attend the ceremony do NOT need to register, but DO need to be RSVP’d in the registration form.
This year, one graduating student will have the opportunity to speak at the GraduAsian commencement ceremony. To apply to be the student speaker and for speech guidelines, please contact Tony Vo at email@example.com
