Spanning over a three-day period, this conference will focus on the histories, genres, meanings, purposes, and impact of popular cultures throughout Africa.
Over a hundred scholars from throughout the globe will present papers examining various aspects of African popular cultures. Topics will range from country music in Zimbabwe to beer drinking habits throughout Ghana to issues of HIV/AIDS in African fiction.
Friday: 11 a.m.-5:15 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m.-5:15 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
