BEST is a national organization comprised of former African American students of The University of Texas at Austin. Since our inception in 1998, it has been our mission to promote higher education and to engage in activities that support The University of Texas at Austin's and the Ex-Students Association's activities and programs with specific emphasis to the African/Black community.
The Austin Chapter organized April 4, 2009 during Texas Relays Weekend Brunch sponsored by the Warfield Center for African & African American Studies. Members are comprised of African American Alumni of The University of Texas at Austin who are currently residing in Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Kyle, Manor, Cedar Park, Georgetown, and Hutto, TX.
