Professor Toyin Falola receives Quintessence Award from African Writers Endowment, Inc. and Proclamation from New Jersey governor

Prof. Falola's Quintessence Award from the AWE

On April 5, 2008, History Professor Toyin Falola was awarded the Quintessence Award from the African Writers Endowment, Inc. (AWE) for his literary achievements and leadership role world wide.

The AWE presented Prof. Falola the prestigious Quintessence Award at their annual Quintessence Ball in Trenton, New Jersey. Falola and the AWE were also honored with a Proclamation from New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine for their achievements and contributions to African heritage.

Each year AWE celebrates African People in World History by hosting the Quintessence Ball where the award is presented. The recipient's career must distinguish them as an outstanding contributor to the history of African people.
