The Performing Blackness Series of The John L. Warfield Center for African and African American Studies, University of Texas at Austin
In 2004, the Warfield Center launched the Performing Blackness Series (pBs) with the aim of providing nationally recognized artists an opportunity to develop new work. Through a two-week residency, the artists use the Performing Blackness Series as a laboratory for exploring race, gender, sexuality, nation, and class. The award-winning artists have returned again and again to (pBs) as a way of stretching their artistic practice.2010-11
