Education: B.A in Mass Communications and minor in Psychology, AUC, 1986. She completed a Masters degree in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language from the American University in Cairo in 1996.
Ms. Salem is currently teaching various levels of Egyptian Colloquial as well as Modern Standard Arabic at AUC. She has taught a number of skills, including listening, speaking, writing and reading. She collaborated in developing MSA material for beginners as well as ECA material. She also participated in developing computer assisted teaching materials and developing a web site for reading materials, as well as listening materials for Aswat Arabia. She is currently involved in developing new ECA materials.
