NOTE TO PROSPECTIVE 2014-2015 APPLICANTS
Due to the recent political events in Egypt, the current CASA I & II programs have been suspended and temporarily relocated to the Qasid Institute in Amman, Jordan for the 2013-14 fall and spring semesters.
CASA evacuated the 2013-14 fellows studying in Cairo due to the current travel warnings issued by the U.S. State Department in late June 2013. After the evacuation, fellows participated in online courses coordinated by the American University in Cairo to complete the 2013 summer semester.
Our goal is to return to The American University in Cairo for the CASA I & II programs for the 2014-15 academic year; however, this will depend on the travel and security warnings issued for this region. CASA will continue to monitor events in Egypt and ensure that all fellows, prospective applicants and CASA partners are kept informed of our plans for the upcoming application year.
For now we encourage all people interested in the 2014-2015 CASA I Full Year program, to apply. We expect to confirm the program location by the time our 2014 Selection Committee convenes in early March 2014. Please refer to the Forms page of this website for the new CASA I application details. Please note that the 2014-2015 CASA II program will be suspended due to funding and we hope to resume this program for 2015-2016.
Thank you for your continued support and please contact our office with further questions or concerns.
