CMAS Announces 2011 Jovita González Memorial Lectures in the Arts and Humanities

The Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS) will host the 2011 Jovita González Memorial Lectures in the Arts and Humanities on Thursday, March 24, 2011. The lectures will take place in the Santa Rita Suite (UNB 3.502) of the Texas Union on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin. The lectures begin at 5:30 pm.
The Jovita González Memorial Lectures in the Arts and Humanities are presented by CMAS faculty associates who are either in their first year of service at the University or who have been recently promoted to tenure or full professor.

Portable Murals: The Art and Outreach of Children's Book Press in 1970s San Francisco by Cary Cordova, Assistant Professor, Department of American Studies.
Literary Revolutions: American Indian Writers and Indigenous Mexico by James Cox, Associate Professor, Department of English.
