Posted: May 13, 2013
The Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS) welcomes a new staff member, Femi Olasupo. Femi will be the new CMAS Administrative Assistant effective May 6, 2013. The former CMAS Administrative Assistant, Alberto Gonzalez, will maintain some of his previous responsibilities while taking on new ones as the Administrative Associate for CMAS. Similarly, Femi will take on a variety of responsibilities, such as staffing the front desk, assisting the directors, and managing the CMAS web site and social media initiatives.
Femi Olasupo was born in Pennsylvania but raised in Austin, Texas. As a Texan and former Longhorn, she is full of Texas and Longhorn pride! Femi loves to travel, learn about different cultures, and cultivate an international community. She is half Nigerian and has spent extensive time studying and working abroad in Santiago de Chile. In the last few years she’s traveled to Argentina, Ecuador, and Mexico and hopes to travel to Europe next. Some of Femi’s favorite things to do are cooking, reading, watching movies and spending time with friends. Femi is very grateful for the warm welcome she’s received at CMAS and looks forward to becoming fully integrated into the CMAS comunidad.
