Jefferson Book Club Meeting: Living Wisely, selections from Montaigne

Wed, November 14, 2012 • 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM • WAG 403B

Please join us on Wednesday, November 14 for the next meeting of the Jefferson Book Club

Living Wisely: Selections from Montaigne

One of the first and greatest masters of the essay, the Renaissance statesman, author, and skeptic Michel de Montaigne had a profound influence on subsequent European philosophy and literature. His essays are an extended meditation on human nature and the art of living. Our selections include some of his most famous reflections on human mortality, happiness, friendship, and solitude.

Copies of the selections are available on the bottom shelf of the bookcase in the foyer of the Government Department/Jefferson Center office located in BAT 2.116.

The discussion will be hosted by Lorraine Pangle and will take place Wednesday, November 14, 5-6:30 pm in WAG 403b.

We hope to see you there!
